1,012 kg: Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin
Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin is the world’s largest gold coin.
The coin was produced by The Perth Mint in Australia and it weighs in at 1,012 kg (2,231 lb 1.24 oz), making it by far the largest gold coin that has ever been cast. It is certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest coin.
This is not just the largest gold coin in the world, it is the largest refined unit of gold in any format. By comparison, the largest gold bar in the world is 250 kg.
The coin measures 80 cm (2 ft 7.49 in) in diameter and 13 cm (5.12 in) in thickness. The coin is made from bullion with a purity of 99.99 per cent, and is was introduced on 9 February 2012.
The legal tender coin has a face value of AUS$1 million, and it features a Kangaroo to promote The Perth Mint Kangaroo Gold Bullion Coin series.
This one-of-a-kind gold coin is not for sale, though I suppose you could always make the Perth Mint an offer they couldn’t refuse. Note that 1012 kg is 32536.5312585 troy ounces. If gold was $2,000 USD per ounce, then this coin would have a gold value of $65,073,062 USD.
100 kg: Big Maple Leaf
The Big Maple Leaf is a gold coin weighing 100 kilograms (3215 troy oz.). Six of these coins of 99999 fine gold were produced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2007, and they have a face value of $1 million CAD.
One of the coins was stolen in Berlin in 2017, and it is assumed to have been melted down.
The Big Maple Leaf held the record for the largest gold coin until the 1 tonne Australian Gold Nugget was minted in 2011.
10 kg: Gold Maple Leaf
In March 2020 the Royal Canadian Mint produced the largest Gold Maple Leaf coin ever made. This 10 kg 99.999% gold coin has a face value of $100,000 CAD, and no more than 10 of these were available to collectors.

The Super Pit 5oz Gold Bullion Coin was produced by the Perth Mint to commemorate the gold mine near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. This 5oz (155.533 g) 99.99% pure gold has a face value of $500 AUD, and 500 coins were minted in 2022.

The Mother and Baby Kangaroo 2oz Gold Bullion Coin is produced by the Perth Mint. This 2oz (62.213 g) 99.99% pure gold coin has a face value of $200 AUD, and the 2023 run has a mintage of 5,000 coins.
